Bomb Scare in Mount Kisco

April
26

I just got chills reading about the bomb scare in Mount Kisco. According to The Journal News, the complex at 100 South Bedford Road was evacuated this morning due to bomb threats. It’s scary enough to think about something like this happening so close to home—didn’t we just get through 911?— but this one hit me particularly hard as the complex is home to a daycare center. About 140 small children, from All Aboard Child Care Center, were evacuated from the building. It’s hard enough getting calls at work like, “your son is sick, come pick him up.” But I can’t imagine getting a call saying, “There’s been a bomb scare. Come get Owen.” In the end, everything turned out OK. The police sent in bomb-sniffing dogs and determined the area to be safe. Still, I don’t know how I’d feel at drop-off tomorrow morning.
