Road rage

August
8

Lately I’ve had such road rage—I guess it’s because I’m always in a rush; trying to get everyone “there” on time—including myself! Lucky me now gets to go to defensive driving class this weekend—after getting a ticket in a school zone (it wasn’t my fault, I swear!). But honestly? Moms seem to always be frazzled and rushing—at least the moms I know who are doing ten million things in one day…

My wife is like this, and I do what I can to split the driving chores. Southern California is not a fun place to drive in, especially since I come from a much more sparsely populated area. The wife and I joke about how everyone has something more important than what YOU have to do, right now, so make way and let them by. I’m not sure where we all went wrong, but lots of folks are incredibly inconsiderate out there on the roads. Heck, even in the grocery store!! Let’s talk about “shopping cart rage”...take it from the streets into the grocery stores. Although, having done the grocery shopping for five kids, with a 5-year old pawing at everything, and a 10-year old who “wants to go home”...I can understand the “shopping cart rage”. I wish we could all just slow it down and take a deep breath…God knows, we NEED IT.

Wish I’d known… I would’ve scheduled my Defensive Driving class w/you! Oh, but that wouldn’t have worked out – I’m just entirely TOO BUSY this weekend!!! Which is exactly why I got my ticket in the first place. Do these classes teach us Moms how to defensively get from point A to point B (and to Points C, D, E, F, G….) within the hour, on time and in one piece – all without speeding? Let me know! I might make time for THAT!!!
